Ludwigia Ammonite Multi Block.
A rare Ludwigia sp. multi block from Bearreraig, Isle of Skye, Scotland (Lower Inferior Oolite). Prepared here at the fossil farm to a high standard. These beautiful little fossils are extremely rare. Not just because collecting in the Isle of Skye is treacherous, but also due to the extremely hard Jurassic stone, there is no more erosion and as such you simply cannot find any more... after they are gone, they are gone for good!
A large piece measuring 8.3" x 7.2" x 2.3". Very uncommon to find examples with an intact centres like these.

Asteroceras confusum and Promicroceras Jurassic Ammonite.
A gorgeous specimen of this sought after species of Ammonite, from the famous Jurassic Coast of Dorset, England. The Asteroceras has course ribbing, with a ridge running the length of the flattened keel. This 3-dimensional specimen measures 2.75" across and exhibits great detail with wonderfully defined inner whorls and intact centre. The yellow brown and green calcite and aragonite replacements contrast beautifully with the original blue lias matrix. The natural and original nodule matrix measures 9" x 9" x 1.8".

Caloceras johnstoni Ammonite Fossil.
These thin-walled Ammonites are crushed, as are most of the Ammonites found in this locality. Flattening of the specimen has increased the area of iridescence of the shell, which is composed of alternating layers of aragonite and conchiolin or the minerals that have replaced them during fossilization. These not only transmit light but also diffract it, acting as a Rowland prism to divide light into its component parts while reinforcing certain wave lengths, much as the prisms do in satellites that study the chemical composition of the stars.
This is a rare and highly desirable fossil. This fossil has NOT been painted, its totally natural. They look somewhat like the Placentaceras Meeki in colour but at a much more realistic price. An excellent example measuring 3.1" across on original matrix measuring 5.2" x 4.3" x 0.6".
