MR-1 Pneumatic Chisel

Unlike other bulk matrix removal air chisels available, the MR-1 Pneumatic Chisel fills a much needed gap - Powerful enough to remove the toughest rock, yet precise enough to work close in to the fossil without fear. As most preparators will know, the smaller air pens like the Chicago 9361 are great tools in their own right, but are very limited when it comes to removing large amounts of rock quickly.

A superbly designed and comfortable unit, utilising a highly efficient pure-pistonic motion, with easily interchangeable chisels. Variable speed power-twist start/stop throttle. Engineered in the EU to the highest standard (including applicable British safety standards) and guaranteed to provide years of worry-free service. This is such an accurate tool, we are now in the process of introducing finer chisels and needle points, so watch this space! The kit contains pen, along with 8ft airline and 3 sizes of chisels (replacements available).

Texas Airsonics AJ-1 Air Abrasion Unit

In addition to the air pens we stock, we are proud to offer the AJ1 by Texas Airsonics. These very robust units have seen service for many years and have been constantly upgraded by the manufacturer to offer the most affordable product on the market today.

The AJ1 is the latest incarnation from a long line of thoroughbred performance based machines. I personally went through 4 different competitors machines before finally settling on one for my own business. I had tried SS White, Swamblasters, Comco and others, but finally found the Airsonics machine, and have been impressed ever since.

The main difference with the machine is its spirofeed vibratory system, other machines use similar technology but only the AJ1 has this particular spiral powder feed enabling powder to be realised into the airflow at precisely the desired rate at all times. Other advantages include such a robust construction that spare parts are virtually never needed and in one case only one new pinch valve was replaced on one ageing machine in 14 years. Try saying that about your Swamblaster! All in all, a great piece of American engineering at an affordable price, full service and support given, and available for demonstration.
