Mammal Fossils

Ursus spelaeus Cave Bear from the Ural Mountains of Siberia, Russia. These are very special fossils indeed and extremely rare, they look awsome on display and never fail to become the talking point of conversation.

A large specimen measuring 7 feet 8 inches tall. This is a genuine fossil Cave Bear supplied with dedicated and discreet steel support. Each and every bone is correctly supported, making for a very stable piece which displays spectacularly.

The fossil is supplied disassembled in a strong wooden shipping crate. Reassembly is straightforward due to each bone being numbered consecutively from the ground up.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for more images or information. All in all, a stunning museum quality fossil with superb preservation. Rarely available, and even more rarely found of this quality and condition.

The approximate age of this piece is around 30,000 years old, dating from the Pleistocene Epoh. Professionally prepared to the highest standard...I have seen a few of these pieces, but none of this size and quality. Ursus spelaeus were huge animals weighing over 1 ton and reaching a height in excess of 10ft - far larger than today's grizzly bears.
